Sky Fortress Studio Maggie McFee (they/she), a life-long maker and taker-apart-er.

The real breakthrough for me as a maker came as a child when, after taking things apart to see how they worked, I also learned to put things back together. My parents were very thankful for this. Except for that one clock that never did work right again.

My primary focus is prop and prop replica building, an area that requires many skills that I am varyingly proficient at: 2D and 3D graphics, solid modeling, 3D printing, scratch-building, kit-bashing, finishing, music, electronics, and robotics, to name a few. It also involves a lot of superglue and sanding. So much sanding… But that doesn’t sound cool, does it. So let’s not mention the sanding.

By day I am a director for a High Performance Research Computing team for a major university. Mad science happens on nights and weekends. I tend to curse a lot much to the consternation of my mother.
